A Deep, dark, rugged “French Roast” with enough kick to spur you along! An extra-bold, rich blend with dark chocolate overtones, herbal notes and a slightly smoky finish. Our “French Roast” blend is the darkest, boldest coffee we offer that consists of coffees from Indonesia, South & Central America that are taken deep into the roast (through the second crack) to produce a smoky flavor characteristic of a true “French Roast”.

This is the best coffee I’ve ever had. I’m in my 60s so I had many coffees but so far this is the best! Just try it once and you’ll be glad you did!
My husband and I love this coffee. We make it into Buttered Coffee with butter and MCT oil and it is delicious. Also very good in a french press. Highly recommend trying this blend. It does not taste like MUD!!!

I’ve been buying Cowboy Mud for a couple years now and it is by far the best cup of coffee I can find and I even live near Seattle. It’s not bitter, doesn’t leave an after taste, just a good honest cup of coffee.
So delicious! I stayed at a B&B in Winthrop and Lariat Cowboy Mud was served. I fell in love with the rich, smooth, creamy, sort of chocolate taste. Bought some to bring home but now I’m out. Thanks!

This coffee rocks and Cowboy Mud is our favorite! Love it…keep up the great work Lori!!!
I stopped in after a trip over the North Cascades Highway and decided to bring home some local coffee on a whim. I didn’t try it until I got back to Seattle, but was pleasantly surprised when I tasted my first cup. I’ve had a lot of different coffee from may roasters and this is honestly among the best I’ve ever had. I savored every cup. The only thing disappointing is not being able to get some locally here in Seattle.
Hi Rick – we are delighted to hear you are loving our Cowboy Mud “french roast”. It is available at Ken’s Market (Queen Anne) and Leschi Market. And you can always order it online, fresh roasted to order and delivered to your door. Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback.

We[‘ve been drinking Cowboy Mud for years. No other coffee brand has the bold full flavor this does. Even tastes good cold. Mail order is easy and I’ll continue to buy as long as Lariat produces it.
Thank you Lee Ann! Cowboy Mud is our best-seller and we keep the supply flowing!
While attending my nephew’s wedding in Mazama, I happened to have been served Cowboy Mud at the Inn where we were staying. It was the best coffee. I saw a one pound bad at the Mazama Store and bought it to bring back to New Jersey. My husband also fell in love with it, and wanted me to ask my sister to get some more and send it to us. Luckily I saw the website on the bag. Soooo much easier and I don’t have to worry that my sister will drink it all and not send it to us. ;>
When I searched WA for a coffee roaster that had French Roast organic available I found Lariat. I have tried Peet’s, Costco, Tony’s, and Indaba. In our process we grind whole beans at home and use a Chemex pour over. In my opinion Lariat roasted the best tasting Cowboy Mud coffee using this method. Thank you very much Lariat! Holland in Kirkland, WA.

Cowboy mud is our favorite coffee!
I have been drinking this for years, every time I visit Winthrop, and decided it was time to order it at home. Cowboy Mud is an incredibly smooth and delicious french roast blend. Ray.

Cowboy mud is my favorite! When I moved to the Midwest I tried every coffee I could find and non of them came close to being as good. Now I order a 5lb bag of beans every couple of months.
